HeForShe is a movement for change led by men and women that helps raise awareness about the inequalities women and girls face worldwide. HeForShe is an invitation for men and people of all genders to stand in solidarity with women to create a bold, visible and united force for gender equality. The men of HeForShe aren't on the sidelines. They're working with women and with each other to build businesses, raise families, and give back to their communities.

 

The HeForShe Movement was launched on September 20th 2014, at the UN headquarters in New York City by Emma Watson and UN Women Goodwill Ambassador. In 2015, several corporations announced their support for HeForShe, including Barclays, Coca-Cola, Deloitte, HP Inc., Intel Corporation, Johnson & Johnson, MasterCard International Incorporated (NYSE: MA), Microsoft Corp., PepsiCo Inc. (NASDAQ: PEP), Procter & Gamble Co. (NYSE: PG), Unilever plc (LSE: ULVR) as well as UN Women's corporate partners such as DHL Express and Save the Children International. As JJS, we've been committed to HeforShe since 2019.

When the world is right, we will have equality. This means that females and males are treated equally and do not face discrimination due to gender. Equality will be achieved by eliminating gender stereotypes, addressing causes of gender and anger from the past, and giving both men and women equal opportunities to reach their full potential. Participating in the HeforShe movement is about recognizing the need for this change and reminding everyone else of it.

We believe that one of the fundamental challenges is for both men and women to understand the issues, opportunities and solutions that exist to promote and create an equal world for all generations.
